It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the International Symposium
celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Korea
scheduled for September 1-4, 2008 in Seoul, Korea.

A number of heads of constitutional courts and equivalent institutions as well
as regional constitutional organizations around the world are invited to
the Symposium, and I sincerely believe that your participation will add great
value to the success of the Symposium.
Under the main theme of ˇ°Separation of Powers and Constitutional Adjudication
in the 21st Century,ˇ± the Symposium will offer an opportunity for the participants
to share their precious knowledge and experience. I am convinced that the
Symposium will serve as a driving force in enhancing constitutional adjudication
systems and promoting human rights by exchanging and deepening our views on the
role and scope of constitutional adjudication under the modern notion of separation
of powers.
I hope the Symposium will contribute to strengthening international cooperation in
the arena of constitutional judicature and serve as an opportunity to discover the
exquisite harmony of historical treasures and cutting-edge technologies during your
