On May 3, Mr. Kim, Taeck Soo was sworn in as the Deputy Secretary General of the Court.

Having graduated from Kyunggi High School and Seoul National University, the new Deputy Secretary General Kim passed the 19th bar exam in 1977 and started his career as Judge of the Suwon District Court in September 1982.

He then served as Judge at the South Branch of the Seoul District Court, Cheongju District Court, Seoul Civil District Court, and Seoul High Court, as Law Clerk of the Supreme Court, and as Senior Judge of the Jeonju District Court, Incheon District Court, Western Branch of the Seoul District Court, and Seoul District Court. After his retirement in February 2000, Mr. Kim was an attorney at law in Lee & Ko, member of the Administrative Appeals Commission under the Prime Minister, and Director of the Legal Aid Foundation of the Korean Bar Association.

Mr. Kim is reputed for his meticulous and reasonable adjudication, along with his predictable and credible verdicts based on the outstanding theoretical and work skills during his term of office as judge. After becoming a lawyer, he was known for his carefully though-out logics in oral arguments and was highly trusted by jurists for his reticence, mild character, modesty, and prudence.

He enjoys listening to music and has two daughters with his wife, Mrs. Kim, Jin-Sil.
