The Constitutional Research Institute aims to contribute to constitutional adjudication not only domestically but around the world. President of the Constitutional Research Institute LEE Heon Hwan

The Constitutional Research Institute is an independent research institution established within the Constitutional Court of Korea. It stands as the sole national research body dedicated to constitutional matters in Korea. Since its inception in 2011, the Institute has been engaged in comprehensive research on the constitution and constitutional adjudication from a medium- to long-term perspective. It has also undertaken comparative legal studies on constitutions and constitutional adjudication across various countries worldwide. Through these endeavors, the Institute has delved into constitutional theory and persistently explored avenues for more efficient operations in constitutional adjudication, further bolstering the Constitutional Court of Korea's role as a leading global institution in constitutional adjudication.

Moreover, functioning as an educational institution, the Constitutional Research Institute has formulated and executed specialized and broadly accessible programs in constitutional education for diverse groups including legal professionals, public officials, educators, and students. This effort has not only cultivated the essential human resources to promote constitutionalism but has also contributed to ingraining the constitution as a norm in the daily lives of the populace.

Furthermore, the Constitutional Research Institute is actively contributing to the global network of constitutional research through vibrant exchanges and collaborations with leading constitutional research institutions and scholars, both domestically and internationally.

The Constitutional Research Institute will remain resolute in its dedication to research and education, with the aim of underpinning the realization of Korean constitution, designed for the mutual prosperity of all, through enhanced constitutional adjudication. We sincerely request your interest and support for the endeavors of the Constitutional Research Institute.

Thank you.
