Greetings,
The Constitutional Research Institute, a branch research institute of the Constitutional Court of Korea, annually hosts an international symposium with the presence of renowned scholars at home and abroad.
This year, the 14th International Symposium will be held under the theme of “Conflict of Powers and Democratic Resilience.” Professors Anna-Bettina Kaiser, Andre Roux, and John Yoo will present in-depth analyses on power structures and conflicts, as well as constitutional instruments and limitations for maintaining and restoring democracy in Germany, France and the United States. Following each presentation, discussions will be provided by Korean professors.
The world today is experiencing social conflicts caused by deepening inequality and extreme clash of powers resulting from political polarization. I hope this symposium will serve as a venue to discuss constitutional responses to overcome such crises, thereby exploring ways to ensure the peaceful coexistence of powers and the sustainable development of democracy.
I also hope that this 14th International Symposium will firmly establish itself as a distinguished international forum for academic research and exchange, enabling participants to share diverse perspectives and engage in meaningful dialogue.
We look forward to your active participation and interest.
