Greetings,

The Constitutional Research Institute, a branch research institute of the Constitutional Court

of Korea, has been holding International Symposia every year.

This year, the 12th International Symposium will be held under the theme of “Human Rights

Protection System in Asia - Promotion of Rights of Women and Children”, in commemoration

of the 35th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Korea.

For the symposium, professors Usha Tandon, Rangita de Silva de Alwis and OkJu Shin will each speak

in-depth about human rights protection system to promote women and children’s rights in Asia.

I hope that this International Symposium will provide an opportunity to broaden our

understanding on the discourse of human rights protection system in Asia, promotion of rights of

women and children in particular, and serve as a valuable venue for academic exchange where

we can contemplate issues of the global community in the realm of constitutional law.
